The Good In Each Other

THE GOOD IN EACH OTHER is a collection of stories—9 short stories, 1 novella, and 1 one-act play—that chronicle the various ups and downs that occur in relationships between men and women. In the title story, a divorced couple goes out alone together for the first time in years, leading to both of them pondering the possibility of getting back together. “The Bare Facts” details what happens when a man meets the woman of his dreams but then finds out a secret about her past that could wreck their burgeoning relationship. “Work” concerns a young married couple learning to adjust their lives to the demands of the wife’s job as a police officer. In “Another Chance,” a man finally gets the opportunity to ask his main high school crush to a dance 50 years after messing up his first attempt. And in the novella “Karen’s Room,” when a college senior learns of the sudden passing of a once-intimate friend from high school, he revisits the sins of his near-past and hopes that, finally, he can make amends for his mistakes. These stories plus the others in this collection shed a realistic yet sympathetic light on the pitfalls inherent in male/female relationships.
